Voices Heard

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the members of the Planning and Zoning Commission for their decision to disapprove the application by Pine Crest Estates requesting a zoning change from R-2 to EH-10. In the application, the out-of-town developer wished to build 56 age-restricted condominiums in an area surrounded by open space, active farmland, and low-density single-family homes.

I would also like to thank all of our neighbors who displayed signs on their property and signed our petition. We also had a select group of concerned neighbors and residents who literally spent hours researching the proposal and formulating articulate arguments against the development.

Thank you again to everyone who made his and her voices heard.
