Dynamite Performance For Soccer Team

The Newtown Dynamite soccer travel team won the Girls U12 SCOR 29th Annual Labor Day Warm-Up Tournament in Ridgefield by winning all four of its games this past weekend.

The Dynamite outscored opponents 18-3. Goals were scored by 11 members of the team for a well-balanced offensive display. Goalkeeper duties were shared by Rebecca Gavel and Jackie Seras. After an easy first day with 6-0 and 7-1 wins over two Ridgefield teams, including Newtown goals in the first minute of both games, the second day of the tourney provided tougher competition as the Dynamite clashed with Ridgefield Black and Legrange from Legrangeville, NY. 

The Dynamite pulled out 2-1 and 3-1 wins, respectively, with the only goals surrendered by the Dynamite on penalty kicks. The Dynamite kick off the regular season this Sunday, when the team travels to New Canaan for a contest against New Canaan Red.
