All town offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.The Newtown Bee will be closed on Thanksgiving. They will reopen at 8 am Friday.

The transfer station at 4 Ethan Allen Road will be closed both days; it will reopen on Saturday on its regular schedule (7 am to 3 pm).

Newtown Senior Center and Cyrenius H. Booth Library will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The senior center will reopen on Monday at 8 am, and the town library will reopen on Saturday at 9:30 am.

Schools also will be closed Thursday and Friday. Public schools will have early dismissal on Wednesday, November 25.

The United States Postal Service will not be making deliveries on Thursday.
