Newtown Congregational Church announces an upcoming program with author Brian McLaren.

Residents are invited to join NCC leaders and members for a program with Brian McLaren on Saturday, December 3. Mr McLaren will be speaking with clergy leaders from local houses of worship that morning, and then the public is invited to join him for a lecture at 7 pm. The public program will be at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

The Christian story, from Genesis until now, is fundamentally about people on the move - outgrowing old, broken religious systems and embracing new, more redemptive ways of life. Mr McLaren feels it is time to move again.

In his new book, The Great Spiritual Migration: How the World's Largest Religion is Seeking a Better Way to be Christian, Mr McLaren invites readers to seize the moment and set out on the most significant spiritual pilgrimage of our time: to help Christianity become more Christian while joining in interfaith conversation about religious life in migration.

The book is available through Amazon, among other options, for $15.75 hardcover. Copies of the book may also be available the night of the program at NCC.

Pastor as well as a sought-after thinker and teacher, Mr McLaren is a voice for transformation and hope and a committed voice for interfaith conversation and discovery.

Registration can be done online at eventbrite.com/e/a-day-with-brian-mclaren-tickets-28867265769

Additional information is available by calling 203-426-9024, sending email to newcong@sbcglobal.net, or visiting newtownctchurch.org.
