Why did you attend this year’s Labor Day Parade?

Denise and Cliff Evans: Our daughter — Megan Evans — is a cheerleader, her last year being a cheerleader at Newtown High School, and we’ve been coming for over 21 years.

Emma Schmid-Tharnish: My mom’s one of the judges, and we come to the parade every year.

Tom and Kiernan Kelley: We’re coming to see the Newtown color guard perform — we have two daughters in the color guard — and because we come every year.

Rolf Almgren: I like parades, and heard there was one. And it was a nice day.

Mary Teicholz: We’ve come for the past many years. It’s fun. It’s a beautiful day.

Ilene Dresner: We had come the year before the hurricane and enjoyed it, and thought why not? And it was a gorgeous day.
