Kevin's Community Center - Newtown's free, nonprofit medical clinic - will conduct its 9th annual major fundraiser, Music, Merlot and Mums, a community gathering featuring wine tasting, live music, and local fare, on Saturday, December 3, from 4 to 7 pm, at Newtown Country Club, 2 County Club Road.

Music will be provided by CKW Jazz Trio and there will be an array of wines to taste provided by World of Wine and Spirits, Nick's Chilled and Distilled, and Taunton Wine and Liquors.

A silent auction will also be held with such items as golf outings, fine jewelry and gift certificates from fine area restaurants, along with a ticket raffle for smaller prizes.

Ticket are $45 per person. They are available at Kevin's Community Center (KCC), 153 South Main Street. They will also be sold at the door.

All proceeds will benefit Kevin's Community Center, Inc, a non-profit, free medical clinic founded in 2002 by Dr and Mrs Z. Taweh of Newtown, in memory of their son Kevin.

KCC's mission is to provide free primary health care for persons over the age of 18 who are uninsured or underinsured and have limited financial resources. It currently serves all towns covered by the Newtown Health District which includes Newtown, Bridgewater and Roxbury. Hours of operation are every Wednesday from 1 to 5 pm.

The clinic also provides yoga on Saturdays.
