Attitudeâs Role In Cancer Healing
WATERBURY â Jane Humiston, a nationally recognized educator and certified counselor, will conduct a seminar, âAttitude Makes the Difference,â intended for breast cancer survivors and their guests, at the Waterbury Hospital Be Well Center in the Brass Mill Center Mall in Waterbury. The program date is Thurs, August 9, from 7 to 8 pm.
The Be Well Center is located on the upper level of the mall, next to Sears.
A breast cancer survivor, Ms Humiston will share ideas on how anyone can develop and maintain a healthy and positive attitude to enhance healing and recovery. Space is limited; please call for reservations at 203-575-0730.
A Southbury resident, Humiston has worked in the field of education and counseling for three decades. Her focus is now to bring her own experience with breast cancer to other women. âThe medical care we undergo as part of our recovery is important but so is the psychological aspect. The two are really inseparable,â she explained.
The Be Well Center offers educational programs and screenings for women throughout the year, including topics such as perimenopause, reversing the aging process through proper skin care, and cardiovascular fitness. The Center also performs screening mammography six days a week, with or without an appointment. Free mammograms are available to women who qualify. To register for âAttitude Makes the Difference,â or to learn more about other Be Well programs, please call 203-575-0730.
