The Connecticut Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) is warning the public about a telephone scam in which the caller has been fraudulently requesting that the people who are called make donations to the association.
In a statement, CPCA said the association has received several calls from residents alerting them of the telephone scam.
"The Connecticut Police Chiefs Association never conducts telephone solicitations," the association said.
"These calls are a scam. Do not give out any information, especially your credit card information. If you are contacted, please call your local police department," the association said.
