Mr and Mrs Scott Mitchell

Gail Scappatura and Scott Mitchell were married on May 2 on the Grand Lawn, The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne, Fla., with Father Joaquin Perez officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Philip and Patricia Scappatura of Newtown. The groom is the son of Billy and Martha Melton of Troup, Texas and Richard Mitchell of Tampa, Fla.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies.

Jennifer (Scappatura) Harrington, sister of the bride, of Princeton, N.J., was matron of honor.

The best man was Michael Philips of Chester, Va.

The bride’s nieces Isabel, Sophie, and Norah Harrington were flower girls, and the bride’s nephews PJ, Justin, and Trevor Scappatura were ring bearers.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Davis Room at the Ritz-Carlton.

The bride graduated from Newtown High School; Lafayette College in Easton, Penn., with a bachelor’s of science in chemical engineering; and Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas, with a master’s of business administration. She is employed in refinery and fuels management sales by NALCO.

The groom graduated from Troup High School in Troup, Texas, and served in the US Air Force. He is Northeast regional manager for SGS North America.

Following a wedding trip to the Grace Bay Club, Turks and Caicos, the couple is residing in Manhattan, N.Y.
