New Local Commission Vacancies Posted

First Selectman Pat Llodra has posted a number of openings on local boards and commissions, and the qualifying aspects for residents interested in getting involved with local government or its support services.

Newtown’s Commission on Aging has two alternate positions open, one to any registered voter other than Republican and one to any registered voter. 

Fairfield Hills Authority has a vacant position for a Republican or unaffiliated voter. Refer to www.newtown-ct.gov, Boards & Commissions, Fairfield Hills Authority for more information.

Employee Benefits Oversight Committee: Interested parties can send a letter of interest and resume to the Office of the First Selectman. Knowledge of insurance is preferable.

Police Commission has a vacant position for an Independent voter. The Board of Police Commissioners appoint the Chief of Police and appoint, promote, suspend, and remove officers of the police department. The Board of Police Commissioners also serves as the traffic authority for the town.

The Hattertown Historic District, Sustainable Energy and Lake Lillinonah Authority have had long term openings, any interested parties may contact the first selectman’s office at 203-270-4201 during regular business hours, or leave a message.
