To the Editor:

On behalf of Friends of Newtown Seniors (FONS) and the Newtown Chamber of Commerce, I want to thank all of the amazing Newtown organizations listed below. The Express Match speed dating for nonprofits was a unique idea that couldn't have happened without the efforts of all involved. Thank you to the FONS Event team and volunteers and, of course, all the participants who came excited and ready to help our community.

Also, a special thanks to Stop & Shop and Big Y for their generous donations, which helped to provide refreshments for the activity.

The May 25 event was just one more example of how Newtown embraces the volunteer spirit wholeheartedly. We will definitely be planning this event again!
