Mr and Mrs Michael Rivera

Michele Bree Hugyo, daughter of Michael and Anne Hugyo of Waterford, formerly of Newtown, and Michael Joseph Rivera, son of Mary Coniglio of New Fairfield and Richard Rivera, Sr, of Mahwah, N.J., were joined in marriage September 24 at St Anthony’s Church, in Portsmouth, R.I. The Rev Daniel Gray officiated.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and attended by Erica Whearity, Gloversville, N.Y., matron of honor; and bridesmaids, Birgit Bordelon of Charleston, S.C., Michelle DiDomenico of Milford, Mass., Tanya Rivera of North Attleboro, Mass., and Meghan Burke of Hoboken, N.J.

Richard Rivers, Jr, of Attleboro, Mass., served as best man. Ushers were Frederick Petrone of Louisville, Ky., Joseph DiDomenico of Milford, Mass., Jonathan Rivera of Mahwah, N.J., and Carl Whearity of Gloversville, N.Y.

A wedding reception followed at The Great Hall in Fall River, Mass.

The bride graduated from Newtown High School and from Mount Ida College, Newton Centre, Mass., with a bachelor of science in graphic design. She is presently an art director for TriMed Media Group in Providence. Mrs Rivera is a former employee of The Bee Publishing Company, Inc.

Mr Rivera is a graduate of New Fairfield High School. He received his bachelor of science in business administration from Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. He is currently employed as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch in Providence.

Following a wedding trip to Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, the couple is at home in Westport, Mass.
