Vincent N. Lozinak, 89, of Easton died peacefully March 15 at St Vincent's Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1926, in Hartford, son of Beatrice (Smith) and Nicholas Lozinak.

In addition to Maryann (Bruchac) Lozinak, his wife of 65 years, survivors include six sons and one daughter, and their spouses, Richard and Melinda Lozinak of Newtown, Vincent J. Lozinak of West Haven, Wayne Lozinak of Easton, Victor Lozinak of Milford, Steven and Jane Lozinak of Fairfield, Michael and Dia Lozinak of Fairfield, and Marilyn (Lozinak) and Edward Wolf of Derby. Six grandchildren, Wayne Lozinak of Bridgeport, Emily and Nick Lozinak of Fairfield, Robert and William Wolf of Derby, and Dillon Lozinak of Newtown, also survive Mr Lozinak. His brother, David, predeceased him.

A fierce patriot, Mr Lozinak served in both the US Navy and Army Air Corp during World War II. He was employed by the Bridgeport Fire Department for more than 25 years and also worked for William B. Meyers as a rigging foreman for a decade until his retirement. Companies familiar with his work often asked for him by name because of his careful, methodical consideration and impeccable safety record.

He enjoyed saltwater fishing, gardening, and trips to Cape Cod, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, he enjoyed power lifting well into his 80s. He was a passionate New York Giants football fan and could be heard rather loudly when games went awry. A product of the Depression, he never saw a piece of machinery he deemed worthless. Mr Lozinak was intensely proud of his family and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

As per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
