Albert Difilippantonio, Sr
Albert Difilippantonio, Sr, of Easton, Penn., died peacefully February 22, after celebrating his 100th birthday on Valentine's Day. He was one of nine children of Thomasina (Cicale) and Giuseppe Difilippantonio and grew up in Martins Creek, Penn. He married Rose Brunetti in 1946, and they made their home in Easton.
His two sons, Gary, and his wife Marie, of Newtown and Albert, Jr, of Easton, Penn.; brother John, and his wife Gloria; five grandchildren, Adele Unger of Newtown, Michael Difilippantonio and Kristin Difilippantonio McCarthy of Maryland, Dana Difilippantonio of Texas, and Angelo Gianni of North Carolina; and eight great-grandchildren survive Mr Difilippantonio. His wife; two sisters, Mary Scarpantonio and Gloria Piscitello; and five brothers, Pete, Pat, Frank, Fiore, and Thomas, predeceased him.
He was a proud and courageous veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater as part of the 158th Infantry Regiment, also known as the "Bushmasters."
He was employed at Lehigh Portland Cement and Nazareth Steel Fabricators. After he retired, he enjoyed woodworking and flea marketing. Since 2010, he was a resident of Gracedale Nursing Home, keeping the staff busy and dancing with nurses and residents. Mr Difilippantonio was a hardworking man, providing a very good life for his family. He loved telling jokes, playing the harmonica, and was still doing the jitterbug at age 99.
