Carl G. Larsen, 89, of Sandy Hook died February 19 at the Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, Danbury. He was the husband of the late Etta Mae (Haste) Larsen. He was born in Redding, February 1, 1927, and was the son of the late Rose (Howard) and Carl G. Larsen.www.regionalhospicect.org.www.honanfh.com.

Mr Larsen served in the US Army during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was an ironworker with Union Local 424, and a craftsman, making furniture for friends and family.

He was a devoted father to Wayne Larsen, and wife Nancy, of Winsted; Sharon (Larsen) McLeod, and husband John, Of Michigan; and Donna (Larsen) Glover, and husband Lee, of Sandy Hook. He was the devoted grandfather to Bobbi Jo Pellicone and husband Chris, with whom he resided the past four years, and John, Dawn, and Michael McLeod, and Erica Larsen. Fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive Mr Larsen. A grandson, Victor Larsen, predeceased him.

Mr Larsen had a wonderful sense of humor. Even with what he was going through, he would never complain. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank all the nurses, CNAs, and staff at Regional Hospice for their warm hearts and wonderful care of their father, and to Dr Howard Kaplan of Danbury for his care and friendship. They extend a special "Thank you" to Colleen and Arthi for their care of Mr Larsen at home, who made each day a little brighter.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Thursday, February 25, from 2 to 6 pm. A prayer service will take place at 5:30 pm. Interment in Newtown Village Cemetery will take place in the spring.
