Road Paint Cleanup Not A Priority
Road Paint Cleanup
Not A Priority
To the Editor:
My letter is in reference to last weeks letter concerning âSeeing Spotsâ dated October 9 written by Ms Greenwood.
Ms Greenwood, I am sorry that you are bothered by the paint spill at the flagpole. It must have been an accident and not meant to permanently mar the beauty of Main Street.
I cannot imagine how much it would cost the town or state to clean up the paint spill at the flagpole if the town, in fact, even had a line item in the budget for that type of cleanup. The budget process this past year was horrendous for all involved in order to make sure that there was a zero increase to our taxes. Our hard-earned tax dollars would have been much better spent to retain the teachers that the school administrators were forced to let go than to even consider cleaning the roads from an accidental paint spill.
Sincerely,
Leslie Turco
