David R. Semosky, 81, of Stratford, beloved husband for 59 years of Mary Ann (Kubic) Semosky, died on May 22 at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford. He was born in Bridgeport, a son of Mary (Donovan) and John Semosky.www.pisteyfuneralhome.com to leave condolences online.

In addition to his wife, his beloved son Daniel Semosky, and his wife Michele, of Newtown; four grandchildren, MaryBeth Semosky, Kevin Lundberg, and his wife Monica, Kristen Lundberg, and Brian Lundberg; son-in-law, Robert Lundberg; a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews survive him. His son, David; daughter, Mary Jean Lundberg; brothers, John D., Robert and Ronald Semosky; and sisters, Eleanor Wargo and Marilyn Kozlowski predeceased him.

He graduated from Harding High School in 1952 and was a proud Bridgeport East Ender. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy during the Korean War, serving in US Naval Aviation. Mr Semosky was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport where he earned his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, while working full-time and raising his family.

He had been employed with Avco-Lycoming for his entire professional career, as a manager in numerous customer service positions. His position involved extensive worldwide travel, for which Mr Semosky had a great affinity. He was extremely interested in his employees and strived to be fair, caring and supportive.

Mr. Semosky was known to be reliable, dependable and ethical to both his family and his many colleagues. He enjoyed drawing and painting in his spare time and would draw cartoon greeting cards for friends and family. He was also a dedicated volunteer at Boothe Park.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, May 27, at 9:45 am, at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, and at 10:30 am at St Mark Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will be at St John Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday, May 26, from 4 to 8 pm.
