Beatrice B. Piskura, 88, of Prospect, and previously a longtime resident of the Hawleyville section of Newtown, died November 22, in St Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury. She was the wife of the late Michael J. Piskura. She was born in Danbury, April 29, 1927, and was a daughter of the late Marjorie (Scofield) and Howard Banks.

She grew up in Bethel and was a graduate of Bethel High School. Following her marriage, Mrs Piskura lived in Newtown until 2011, when she moved to live with her daughter in Prospect.

Mrs Piskura was a longtime employee of the W.N. DeSherbinin Company of Hawleyville, until her retirement. She was a member of the Prospect Senior Center and previously was a member of the Newtown Senior Center, and was also a member of VFW Post 935 Auxiliary in Bethel.

Two daughters, Marlene Morneault, and her husband Andrew, of Denver, N.C., and Kathleen Midolo, and her husband Carmine, of Prospect; a sister, Lois Hopkins of Bethel; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren survive Mrs Piskura.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Friday, November 27, from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will take place Saturday, November 28, at 10 am, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery, Sandy Hook.
