Joseph W. Masi
Joseph W. Masi, 85, of Newtown, the beloved husband of 63 years to Lucille Carlucci Masi, died peacefully August 19, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Port Chester, N.Y., on September 12, 1930, the son of the late Angelo and Angelina Cardell Masi.
Mr Masi proudly served his country as a member of both the United States Army and the United States Marines.
He was a self-employed mason, a past president of the Croton Falls (N.Y.) fire department, and a former supernumerary for the North Salem (N.Y.) police department. After his retirement, the Masis moved from North Salem to Jupiter, Fla., which they enjoyed for 20 years, prior to moving to Newtown in 2012.
He was an avid painter who also loved to draw, and to spend time with his family and many friends. Mr Masi will be sadly missed by all who knew him and will remain forever in their hearts.
In addition to his wife Lucille, his two caring daughters JoAnne Dardani and her husband, George, of Ravena, N.Y., and Mary Lou Pierce of Oxford; four grandchildren Michael Pierce, Christopher Pierce, Stephanie D'Esposito, and Matthew Dardani; and seven cherished great-grandchildren survive Mr Masi. His son-in-law Gregory Pierce, sister Mary Narbero, and grandson-in-law Richard "RJ" D'Esposito predeceased him.
Memorial donations in Mr Masi's name may be made to The American Heart Association, at heart.org.
