Thomas A. Johnson
Thomas A. Johnson, 54, of Sandy Hook died October 19 at his home, with his wife of 26 years at his side, succumbing to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was born in Mineola, N.Y., and was the son of Jane Johnson and the late Arthur Johnson.
He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Duke University, in 1983. At Duke, he joined the Kappa Sigma fraternity.
He and his wife, Connie, were married June 17, 1989. His life was centered on his wife and sons, Graham and Parker.
Mr Johnson was a product engineer who successfully obtained five patents under his name. He was president of Wet Puppy Products, LLC. Some of his products are sold through Shutterfly.
He was passionate about Duke Blue Devil basketball, the New York Mets, photography, and woodworking.
His wife; his two sons; his mother; brother John, and his wife Judy; ten nieces and nephews; and many other friends survive Mr Johnson. His father and sister, Susan, predeceased him.
A service will take place Saturday, November 7, from 1 to 5 pm, at the Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street, Newtown (at the flagpole).
