DUI On Main Street
A New Milford man was charged with driving under the influence last Saturday night after nearly causing a head-on collision on South Main Street.
According to police, Michael T. Morgan, 25, of 87 Sullivan Road, New Milford, was spotted driving erratically on South Main Street heading south when he suddenly veered into the northbound lane, barely missing an oncoming car.
Other drivers who witnessed the incident contacted police. The driver said he was taking prescription medicine. He was released on a $50 bond to appear in court October 24.
Rear-Ender Accident
Police report a minor motor vehicle accident occurred on South Main Street October 2.
Chris Slaney, 17, of 3 Madison Drive, Newtown, was traveling north on South Main Street when he slammed into the rear of a vehicle being driven by Thomas M. Adams, 23, of 13069 Parade Avenue, Brooksville, Florida. Mr Adams had stopped to make a left into a private driveway when the collision occurred.
Slaney was issued an infraction for following too closely.
Slaneyâs vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
4x4 Quad Theft
Police are investigating the apparent theft of a 1992 Honda TRX230x 4x4 quad from a barn at 15 Newbury Road last weekend between 4 pm on Friday and 4 pm on Saturday. The quad, owned by Douglas Miholko, had been covered and secured with a heavy chain and lock. It has a blue and white fender and a red headlight assembly and is valued at $2,500. The vehicle was reportedly carried from the property, not driven.
