Louise I. Oliva

Louise I. Oliva, 88, of Danbury died October 17, after a long illness. Born in Chicago, August 27, 1927, she was the daughter of Leonard and Carmella Picerno Caputo. Her unconditional loving and devoted husband, Jack Oliva, predeceased her.

Three daughters and their husbands, Jacqueline and Bryon Norvell of Newtown, Patricia and Kenneth Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joanne and Dan Coughlin of Bethel; her sister Carmella Clinton; sister-in-law Aida Val; brother-in-law Rico Oliva, and his wife Olga; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews survive Mrs Oliva. Two sisters, one brother, one sister-in-law, and two brothers-in-law predeceased her.

The family moved to Danbury, where she became assistant town clerk for the City of Danbury for 25 years, until her retirement on June 30, 1997.

Her children remember her as a loving, caring, and supportive parent who made sure they were never in need of anything. She was known to say, “My daughters came first.” They will miss her kisses and her love immensely.

The family gives heartfelt thanks to the staff and administrators of Hancock Hall in Danbury for taking such good care of Mrs Oliva in her time of need.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm, Tuesday, October 20, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. Interment will follow in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
