Domenic Amoroso, Jr
Domenic Amoroso, Jr, 86, beloved husband of the late Virginia Huntley Amoroso, died peacefully at home October 14. Born in Torrington, February 7, 1929, he was a son of the late Domenic and Fannie Marciano Amoroso.
Survivors include three daughters, Michelle Amoroso of Newtown, Joyce Chalfin, and husband Richard, of Boston, and Beverly Naomi Persky, and husband John, of Israel and Connecticut; nine grandchildren and spouses, Robin and KK Chalfin, Jake and Kate Chalfin, Julia Chalfin and fiancé Christoph Sheuermann, Benjamin (Persky) Young and Jordana, Nathaniel and Jennifer Persky, Joshua and Abigai Persky, and Samuel, Noah, and Abraham Persky; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph, Anthony, and wife Marge, and Felix, and wife Joyce; three sisters, Mary Sacco,l and husband Reno, Antoinette Avery, and Annie Samperi; as well as many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and -nephews. His brother, Bartholomew Amoroso, and sister, Carmella Croteau, predeceased him.
He was retired from Bridgeport Machines where he worked for more than 25 years.
Mr Amoroso was an accomplished gardener, and avid Yankees and Giants fan. He was an usher for many years at St Theresa Church. He never missed a family holiday or picnic with his beloved brothers and sisters. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his strength, his loving and devoted nature, and especially, his good sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he has touched.
