Joan Marie Lorenzo-Sullivan, 57, of Creston, Calif., died August 20. She was born December 8, 1957.

Her father, John L. Lorenzo, and his wife Joyce, longtime former residents of Newtown, now living in Southbury; four sisters, Gwen Chabat, and husband Tom, of Arizona, Debbie DeSilva of Waterbury, Cheryl Lorenzo of California, and Joy Kennedy of New Jersey; two nieces; and three nephews survive Ms Lorenzo-Sullivan. Her mother, Doris Lorenzo Lathrop, and her husband, John L. Sullivan, predeceased her.

Ms Lorenzo-Sullivan graduated from Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury and Texas State Technical Institute in Waco. Until ill health forced her to give up her job, she was employed as a tech supervisor for SSI in California.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, and especially by the thousands of hummingbirds that stopped at Ms Lorenzo-Sullivan’s many birdfeeders for a free meal on their yearly migration.
