Jan Koziol
Jan Koziol, 53, of Monroe died November 28 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Dabrowa Bialostocka, Poland, on January 15, 1963, a son of Teresa (Fiedorowicz) Koziol of Wallingford and the late Czeslaw Koziol.
His son Gregory Koziol of Monroe; his siblings and their spouses, Zdzislaw and Allison Koziol and Anna and Zdzislaw Kalinowski, all of Newtown, Mieczyslaw and Ella Koziol of Oxford, Jola and Christopher Dalkin of Wallingford, and Elzbieta Koziol of Fairfield; and his 15 nieces and nephews survive him.
He was a devoted father, son, brother, and uncle. He owned and operated his own trucking company, J. Koziol and Son, LLC. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and was an avid semiprofessional motorcycle racer. He raced all over the East Coast.
His biggest passion in life was his family. Mr Koziol loved having his family and friends over for gatherings and building big bonfires for everyone to enjoy.
Friends are invited to greet Mr Koziol's family on Wednesday, November 30, from 5 to 8 pm at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby.
On Thursday, December 1, friends are invited to go directly to St Michael's Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will follow in the family plot at St John's Cemetery.
