WILTON - Kane Kunst, a senior at Newtown High School and co-captain of the boys' swim team for the 2000-2001 season, is also a member of the Wilton Y water polo team, which began its 10th season recently.

Brooks Ensor is the coach of the team and has 44 young players from grades 6 to 12 to fill out his rosters. Players hail from Wilton, Stamford, New Canaan, Weston, Redding, Greenwich, Newtown and Trumbull.
A multi-team tournament is scheduled for this weekend, October 14 and 15. Wilton will also travel to Annapolis, Maryland, for a tournament on October 21 and 22, and then Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the High School Eastern Tournament on November 11 and 12.
The teams have just returned from games at the Loomis School and a weekend-long tournament at the Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland. According to coach Ensor, âKane has been a key player on the âAâ team, made up of experienced and returning players, and scored four goals with several assists over the weekend.â
In water polo, there is four seven-minute periods in a game similar to soccer or hockey. Players swim or pass the ball to get in position to shoot on goal. During the game, though, there is no resting â players are not allowed to touch the bottom or the sides of the pool.
