Dorothy May Bartlett, 97, a resident of Sandy Hook and Newtown, died July 9. She was born December 31, 1917, to Louise and William Lederer.

She became Mrs Charles E. Bartlett on June 26, 1936.

With a talent for computation, Mrs Bartlett had a long and successful career in the accounting departments of several companies, culminating with her retirement in 1981 from General Foods.

Her daughter Dorothy Louise Bartlett; her son Charles S. Bartlett; her grandsons William Sciaudone, David Sciaudone, and Matthew Bartlett; her granddaughter Hillary Shemler; three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter survive Mrs Bartlett. Her husband of 45 years preceded her in death, in 1979.
