George Krizan, 93, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 14. He was born May 29, 1923, and was a lifelong Danbury resident and an active member of the community.

In addition to his loving wife of 65 years, Marlene, his five children and their spouses, Ken and Tucsi Krizan of Newtown; Kathleen and Timothy Shea of Bethel; Kevin and Dawn Krizan of Bethel; Kerry Krizan of Danbury; and Randy and Veronica Krizan of Bethel survive him. Affectionately known as "Dedo," he is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, Timothy, Kate, Timothy, Kelsey, Brittany, Ashley, Jennifer, Kevin, Christopher, Mike, Tristan, Silas, and Aiden; one great-grandson; numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He will be missed by his siblings, Elizabeth Krizan, Cris Musgrave, and Paula Scozzafava all of Danbury; Emil Krizan of Monroe; and Daniel Krizan of New Milford. In addition to his parents, his siblings Anna, John, Paul, Stephen, Martin, Samuel, and Susan predeceased him.

His greatest happiness came from spending time with his family.

Mr Krizan was a devoted member of St Paul's Lutheran Church and served more than 70 years as a member of Independent Hose Company #4 Fire Department in Danbury. After retiring from many years at Kimberly Clark, he spent his time playing golf at Richter Park and wintering in Fort Myers, Fla.

His loved ones say, "He will be deeply missed by all who knew him."

The family received friends on the morning of December 19, immediately followed by a service, both of which took place at St Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, 19 Tamarack Avenue, Danbury.

Memorial donations can be made to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Danbury, 44 Spring Street, Danbury CT 06810; or Connecticut Burns Care Foundation, 601 Boston Post Road # 2, Milford CT 06460.
