Joseph M. Trosan

Joseph M Trosan, 89, died December 13, at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Fla. Born in Stratford, on October 12, 1927, he was the first son to Joseph and Elizabeth Trosan.

Mr Trosan and his wife, Barbara Linane Trosan, moved to Sandy Hook in 1957, where they raised and are survived by their eight children: Robert Trosan and fiancee, Margery O'Connor Dooley; Michael J. Trosan and Marje Chmiel; Donna and Willie Shanks; Barbara Jo and Joseph Viauso; Sharon Trosan and Lewis Eaton; William J. Trosan ; Richard Trosan and Linda; and Kathleen and Charles Shepard. In addition to his wife and children, his sister-in-law, Vera; his brother and best friend, Andrew Trosan, and his wife, Grace; his grandchildren: Andre, Brian, Katie, Sarah, Meghan, Becky, Joe, Danielle, Brittnay, Christopher, William, Courtney, Lewis, Andy, Kyle, Nathan, Doug, Alexandra, Trisha, Audra, Samantha, and Chucky; as well as 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and their families survive him. Mr Trosan was predeceased by brother, Raymond; his brother-in-law James Hussey; and his godson James Hussey, Jr.

Mr Trosan served in the Navy on a submarine the USS Caiman in the Pacific as an electrician. He was a partner in a TV repair business in Norwalk, and worked on helicopters at Sikorsky in Stratford. He was a transplanter at Viauso Farms in Branford.

He was an avid golfer and captain of the Fairfield Prep golf team for four years and loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. Mr Trosan was happiest and proudest when his family and friends were all together and getting along.

There will be a service at Our Lady of Hope, 4675 South Clyde Morris Boulevard, Port Orange, Fla., at 8:30 am, on Thursday, December 22.

There will be a service at St Rose of Lima, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, at 10:30 am, on Thursday, December 29.
