Cynthia Mooney
Cynthia McCann Mooney, 59, of Woodbury, beloved mother and exceptional equestrian, unexpectedly died February 27, in the comfort of her home. She was born on January 2, 1958, to parents Jean and Robert McCann.
Her husband, Chris Mooney; her brothers and their wives, Kenneth and Barbara McCann of Newtown, Robert and Sonja McCann, and Lawrence and Cheryl McCann; her children, Christopher, and wife Julia, Mooney, Michael Mooney, and Mollykate Mooney; her grandchildren, Christopher and Therese; and her six nieces and nephews survive Ms Mooney.
Ms Mooney was a loving mother first. Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she never lost sight of that. She devoted her life to nurturing and supporting them. They were her pride and joy.
Those who had the pleasure of working with or learning from Ms Mooney will remember her as a compassionate mentor, whose fiery spirit often sparked a love for horses in many young riders. Her example as a teacher, guide, and friend will survive her passing.
Her most cherished days were both those in her early years astride her favorite horse, Rebound, as well as her later years with her family on their farm at Four Green Fields. She was known for her quick wit and lively humor, but also her full and open heart. She will be deeply missed.
All friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, March 11, from noon to 4 pm, at 72 Railtree Hill Road, Woodbury, with a moment for speaking and reflection at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to High Hopes Therapeutic Riding at highhopestr.org.
