Exemplary Service
(The following letter to Dr Thomas Einhorn, principal of the Newtown Middle School, has been received for publication.)
Dear Dr. Einhorn,
On behalf of the Newtown Parent Connection, I would like to commend several members of your staff for their exemplary service.
On March 22nd the Newtown Parent Connection, in partnership with Brookfield CARES, held its Parent Empowerment University. This event was a record breaker for our group! Approximately 400 people – workshop attendees, children at “Kids University,” presenters and volunteers – marveled at the ease and flow of the day. As in the past, I was the middle school point person and it was my pleasure to work with several staff members in the coordination of this event.
This year, I collaborated with Sue Zimmerman. When we met, she asked each member of our middle school “team” to attend so they would all be apprised of our requests. She was wonderful – double checking on our needs and confirming items with other members of the Middle School staff.
The custodial staff could not have been more accommodating. We so appreciate the efforts of Chris Padula, Lenny Campinelli, Pete Blomberg. Tommy Carapezza, and Scott Kovack. They were extraordinary throughout set up on Friday to clean up on Saturday! They checked with us periodically to see if there was anything we needed or anything they could do. Bruce Moulthrop was our go-to person with our technical questions and Lori Vande Weerdt, from the cafeteria staff, was most obliging, as usual.
Dr. Einhorn, attendees’ comments reflected how well run the day’s events were. That, to be certain, was due in no small part to the support we received from the above mentioned staff. Truthfully, I cannot imagine undertaking the coordination of an event of this magnitude without them.
I’ve always been a firm believer in a pat on the back for a job well done. And, in this case, a letter of gratitude to all is indicated.
Sincerely,
Roseanne G. Loring
