Reid Johnson, 51, of Sandy Hook, formerly of Ridgefield, died February 7. Reid was born in Coral Gables, Fla., the son of Jo Ann (Cain) and Thomas Johnson.

He attended Ridgefield schools and was a graduate of Ridgefield High School. He received his bachelor’s degree and MBA from Baylor University.

Mr Johnson was active in Troop 116, Boy Scouts of America, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in January 1981. He has been the assistant Scout Master for Troop 770 in Newtown for several years.

He was a second vice president, Global Consolidation Group, at General Reinsurance Corporation.

Mr Johnson was an active member of the Ridgefield Baptist Church where he had held the position of trustee for several years. He had a strong faith and the family finds peace and comfort in the knowledge that he is with his Lord and Savior now.

His two children, Brandon and Amanda; his parents; two sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Jonathan Goldenthal and Heather and Jonathan Blanchard; his former wife, Stephanie Bush; aunts, uncles, cousins, and three nephews survive Mr Johnson.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, February 28, at 11 am, at the Ridgefield Baptist Church, 325 Danbury Road, Ridgefield. Friends will be received at the church from 10 am until the time of the service. Interment will take place in the spring, at Maple Shade Cemetery, Ridgefield.
