Martha "Marcie" Lebo, 92, a longtime resident of Fairfield and then Newtown, the beloved wife of 38 years of the late Ronald N. Lebo, died April 2. She was born in Hickory, N.C., and grew up in Miami, Fla.

She graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, after which she was hired as a flight attendant by Eastern Air Lines where she met Ron, who was a pilot. They were married on November 1, 1949. Thereafter, she stayed home to raise their three daughters.

After moving to Connecticut in 1966, they became active members of Black Rock Church in Fairfield. Under the ministry there, Mrs Lebo's faith and love for her Lord Jesus grew. She in turn served in many capacities over the 49 years of attendance. She worked with Pioneer Girls, hosted home Bible studies, and she served in the Cambodian Ministry. She also served in the community through the Hopeline Pregnancy Resource Center, where she volunteered for several years. She was also an active attendee at Fairfield County Christian Women's Club. Mrs Lebo found great joy singing in the choir at Black Rock Church. Her greatest pleasure was her family and the times they spent together.

Her daughters and their husbands, Melinda and Daniel Durrange, Melanie and Jeffery Albright, and Amy and Robert Nosal, survive her. She was blessed with five grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Kara Albright, Aileen and Ricardo Barreto, Joshua and Whitney Albright, Laurel and Stephen Gelardi, and Rachel and Curtis Barnes, as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Many thanks to the staff of Wesley Village, Bishop Wicke, and Griffin Hospital for the kind and compassionate care they provided Mrs Lebo.

A graveside service was conducted on the morning of April 10 at at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, with a memorial service following in Black Rock Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Black Rock Church Music Ministry at blackrock.org/worship.
