Doris (Andersen) Giambruno, 82, died December 10 in her home in Port Saint Lucie, Fla. She was born January 5, 1932, in Glen Head, Long Island, a daughter of the late Blanche (Horinowski) and Aksel Andersen. She lived most of her life in Glen Cove, N.Y., and was the devoted and beloved wife to her late husband John Giambruno.

Four children, Sandra Black, and husband Robert, of Sandy Hook, Thomas Giambruno, and wife Lynn, of Glen Cove, Anthony Giambruno, and fiancée Carol Dictor, of Port Saint Lucie, and John Giambruno, and wife Jane, of Bethel; ten grandchildren, Thomas and Michael Giambruno, Anthony and Kenneth Giambruno, John and Jillian Giambruno, and Amanda, Robert, Alexis, and Avery Black survive Mrs Giambruno. Two brothers, Thomas and Reinhardt Andersen; and by her sister, Veronica Famiglietti, predeceased her.

She was a beloved and adoring mother and grandmother and a kind-hearted friend to many. She loved to socialize, read books, was always up for a good tag sale, and she loved her pet dogs.

Friends and family will be received Friday, December 19, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, and a funeral service will take place Saturday, December 20, at 10 am, at the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, 26 Franklin Avenue, Glen Cove, N.Y. Interment will be at the Locust Valley Cemetery, Rye Field Road, Locust Valley, N.Y.
