Phyllis L. (Gautiero) Babasick, 83, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Babasick, died June 18 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport on December 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Margaret (Sabo) and Anthony Gautiero, and has been a lifelong area resident.

Her sister, Barbara Edwards and her husband Rudy of Newtown; devoted sons, Paul Babasick of Houston, Texas, and Dr David (Babasick) Lauren and his wife Beverly of Huntington; two grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Babasick; three step-grandchildren, Brendan, Brianna, and Brody Biebel; brother Richard Gautiero of Florida; and several nieces and nephews survive her.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, her infant son Michael predeceased her.

Mrs Babasick was a retired sales associate for D.M. Read's Department Store. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at St Mark's Church for many years and took joy in participating in its many service projects to help others. Mrs Babasick also loved the Christmas season and was known for her intricate handmade ornaments

She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Friends may call on Friday, June 30, from 4 to 7 pm, in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 1, at 10 am, meeting directly at St Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will be in St John's Cemetery, Stratford.
