Anthony "Tony" J. Viglione, Jr, 76, of Newtown, beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Kean) Viglione, died July 11 at Danbury Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. He was born September 29, 1940, in Bridgeport, a son the late Josephine (Ruggiero) and Anthony J. Viglione.

Besides his wife, a brother, Mathew, and his wife Carol, of Trumbull; a sister, Virginia of Venice, Fla;. and several nieces and nephews survive him.

His brother-in-law, Ken Hofford, predeceased him.

Mr Viglione was a Navy veteran, having served six years stateside in San Diego, Calif., where he also attended college. He was a longtime employee of DuPont in Newtown. Mr Viglione was an avid bowler, having been a member of the Tashua Senior Bowling League. He was an antiques dealer and loved gardening, as well as a fine cigar.

Friends may call Friday, July 14, from 3 to 7 pm, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, prior to the service that will follow directly. Interment will be private.
