Bruce L. Erickson, 69, husband of Maryann Erickson of Newtown, died on Monday, November 24, at Danbury Hospital. Born in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Dorothy (Lawrence) and Calvin O. Erickson.

He served in the US Navy. After more than 30 years of service with Bristol-Meyers, Squibb/Clairol, Mr Erickson retired as the manager of the electrical department. He then founded Erickson Electric in Newtown and continued his career as an electrical contractor.

A devoted and fun-loving family man, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his grandkids. A big kid himself, he loved reaching out to people and making them smile.

In addition to his loving wife, a son and three daughters, William Puskas, Victoria Chandler, Debra Collinge, and Rose Caruso, and her husband Marco; eight cherished grandchildren, Jessica Frate, Brittany Chandler, Kaia Puskas-Ospina, Marco Cabrera, Olivia and Lila Caruso, and Elias and Issac Collinge; brothers Calvin, and his wife Lynn, and Alan, and his wife Sharon; and a sister, Elizabeth Evon, and her husband Frank, survive Mr Erickson.

His family will receive friends Friday, November 28, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. A funeral Mass will take place at 9 am, Saturday, November 29, at St Philip Church, 1 Fr Conlon Place, Norwalk. Burial with full military honors will follow at St John Cemetery, Norwalk.
