Mr and Mrs Eric Margulies

Lauren Nicole Cross and Eric Scott Margulies were married at the historic Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas, on January 14, 2007, by the Honorable Herschel Hamlen. A former Newtown resident, the bride was given into marriage by her father.

The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Cross, who now live in Austin. The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Howard Margulies.

For her wedding, Lauren chose a strapless pearl-colored satin gown designed by Justina McCaffery. She wore it with a cathedral-length veil and carried a bouquet of ivory vendela roses, stephanotis and mini calla lilies.

Her maid of honor was Whitney Cross of Austin. Bridesmaids were Leah Farrasso of Chicago, Tara Fiscella of New York City, Tiffany Fredericks of Bend, Ore., Meredith Negrin of New York City, Katherine Weprin of Cleveland, Ohio, and Nicole Safier of Indianapolis, Ind. The attendants all wore midnight blue taffeta A-line gowns featuring a mulberry tie sash. They each carried three long-stemmed green goddess calla lilies.

The best man was Andrew Margolies of Chicago. Ushers were Parker Jones of Austin; Nicholas Mahlum of Seattle, Ryan Rogers of Dallas, and Blake Rogers, also of Dallas. Groomsmen were Tyrone Byro of Raleigh, N.C.; Anthony Cross of Los Angeles; Bradley Garner of Charlotte, N.C.; Zachary Hirschfeld of Chicago; Daniel Kamen, also of Chicago; and Adam Rich, also of Raleigh

Additional attendants included Jack Rogers of Raleigh, and Kendall, Alyssa, Madison, and Lauren Montgomery of Austin.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Newtown High School, and a 2003 graduate of Indiana University. She is a senior sales professional for Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceutical.

Mr Margulies graduated from Sanderson High School in Raleigh in 1999, and then from Indiana University in 2003. He is an assistant vice president for Bernstein Global Wealth Management in New York City.

Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, the Margulieses have returned to their home in New York City.
