John Sharpe Sr.
John M. Sharpe, Sr, 75, beloved husband of 55 years to Judith (Scianna) Sharpe of Milford, died August 30. He was born July 6, 1942, in Bridgeport, and was the son of the late Margaret (Whalen) and Asher Sharpe.
In addition to his devoted wife, his brother Robert Sharpe of Newtown; his two children and their spouses, Karen Sharpe Paquette and Kevin White, and Craig Daniel Sharpe and Francisco Carillo, all of Derby; daughter-in-law, Dawn Tyler Sharpe of Derby; and several nieces and nephews survive him. He was lovingly called "Bampy" by his seven grandchildren, Sarah, Jason, Samantha, Eddie, Evan, Scianna, and Tabatha.
His loving son, John M. Sharpe, Jr; and his siblings, Ralph Sharpe, Loretta Sharpe, and Dorothy Smith, predeceased him.
Mr Sharpe was the former owner of Milford Collision and was currently working as a painter for the past 18 years at Sikorsky Aircraft.
He loved going to baseball games and sports activities with his grandkids and spending time with his family. Mr Sharpe enjoyed his trips to the casino and was an avid New York Mets fan.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 5, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
A funeral aervice will be conducted on Wednesday, September 6, at 9:30 am, at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St Gabriel Church, Milford. Interment to follow in Mount St Peter Cemetery, Derby.
