As parents and students arrived at Fraser Woods Montessori School on Friday, September 2, they were guided to the school's playground by a sign to a "Meet the Teachers" event.

The day was hosted to allow students a chance to see their classrooms ahead of the 2016-17 academic year, which began on Tuesday, September 6.

Different grade levels were invited to stop by the school at staggered times throughout the day.

"The event gives the kids a chance to meet their teacher," said Kathy Anderson, Fraser Woods Montessori School director of marketing and communications.

Fraser Woods Montessori School Director of Admissions Alison Kistner said after the students mingled on the playground and met teachers, tours of the school would be offered indoors.

As people wandered around the playground in the sun, Ms Kistner said the event "gives the new parents a great opportunity to meeting returning parents."
