Clarence F. Schneider, 82, of Newtown died August 18 at his home. Born December 21, 1931, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the only son of Edith and Clarence Schneider.

A longtime resident of Newtown, Mr Schneider was a psychotherapist, carpenter, adjunct faculty member at Western Connecticut State University, and an avid collector of antique Volvos. 

Two sons, Mark and Jeffrey; a granddaughter, Breanne; and his loving companion, June, survive Mr Schneider.

The Schneider family wishes to extend their deepest thanks and gratitude to Masonicare Hospice Center and its wonderful staff for their tireless compassion on behalf of Mr Schneider.

A memorial service will be held at a future date, to be announced.
