Geoffrey “Jeff” Edward Page, 87, of Roxbury, formerly of Newtown, died July 15 at Bethel Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Jennie Curro Page. He was born in Athol, Mass., January 16, 1927, son of Benjamin Whitney and Caroline Blanchard Page.

He left school at the age of 17 to join the Navy and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. After military service, he returned to school, graduated from Westfield High School, and earned an associate degree from the University of Massachusetts in Stockbridge.

He worked for Eastern States Farmer Exchange in Bethel for 17 years and later was a car salesman at Colonial Ford in Danbury.

Mr Page was an Eagle Scout and continued his involvement in scouting over the years. He was a member and past treasurer of the Newtown Lions Club. He and his late wife moved to Palmetto, Fla., where he continued to work for several years.

A daughter, Susan Krager, and her husband Robert, of Roxbury; grandson, Geoffrey Krager, and his wife Rebecca, of Torrington; two sisters, Caroline Connelly and Edna Ball; one great-grandson, Seth; and many nieces and nephews survive Mr Page. In addition to his parents, three sisters, Annette Quinlan, Mary Landry, and Florence Vendette; and a brother, Benjamin Page, Jr, predeceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Patrick’s Mission Church on Route 317, Roxbury, Tuesday, July 22, at 11 am.
