Elizabeth “Kitty” Strickland Dick, 85, of Trumbull died May 27. She was born in Milledgeville, Ga., to Esther and Hardy Strickland.

Her three children, Carol Anderson, and her husband Douglas, of Newtown, David, and his wife Nelly, of Bridgeport, and Michael of Oxford; her brother Carl Strickland, and his wife Jean, of Villa Rica, Ga.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive Mrs Dick. Her husband of 60 years, Richard W. Dick, predeceased her.

She received her bachelor's degree from Duke University and became a stewardess for United Airlines prior to her marriage. She earned her master’s degree from NYU, attended Columbia University, and studied at the Juilliard School. She enjoyed lifelong learning and a love for music as she taught piano out of her home in Trumbull for many years. 

A memorial service was held May 31Mrs Dick and her husband will be interred at The Cathedral of St John the Divine in New York City at a later date.
