The Taunton Press vs Diamond Electric Supply: The Taunton Press was on fire in the first of its doubleheaders. Katelyn Zaniewski and Madelyn Twitchell smashed the ball through the infield. Brenna Navin and Shannon Kelleher had tremendous games defensively trying to slow down a red hot Diamond Electric offense.
The Taunton Press vs Zoar Ridge Stables: The Taunton Press had to muster all its talent to keep up with the Zoar Ridge Stables. Ashley Hubner and Brenna Navin had strong performances at the plate. Leah Kerslake and Madelyn Twitchell were outstanding in the field.
Zoar Ridge Stables vs The Taunton Press: The Zoar Ridge Stables team played an exciting game against The Taunton Press. Scarlett Long had several scoops at the pitchers mound followed by outs from strong first base player Tori Lewis. Hannah Galer and Maddie Greenhaw wowed the crowd with impressive hits in the last inning. For The Taunton Press, the team played a terrific ball game. Leah Crebbin and Emily Longo had hot bats, scattering numerous hits. Catherine Murphy and Madelyn Twitchell fielded some hard hit ground balls slowing down the Zoar Ridge Stables offense.
Zoar Ridge Stables vs Diamond Electric Supply: With only one more game to go, the Zoar Ridge Stables team has developed some strong players who showed their stuff against Diamond Electric Supply. Riley Powers had a notable out at second base, while Molly McCleary beat the runner to third base producing an out after a close run down. Tessa Bigwarfe and Molli Lewis held together the team on the offensive side with impressive hits to the outfield. For Diamond Electrical Supply, the team played a great game on Saturday, even though shorthanded. Ava Foss displayed every at bat with hard shots up the middle, with Julia Calabrese driving in a run with a drive down to third. Aidan Herbstman made many great defensive stops with the glove, as well as Amanda Colonel with her putouts to first. It was a well-played game by both teams; the game was then shortened by the never-ending rain.

Papa Alâs Pizza 5, Associated Refuse 3: For Associated Refuse, Hanna Marcum and Lola Villeneuve both scored. Hallie Audet and Taylor McPadden played well on defense. Shannon Jackman pitched great. Casey Sullivan and Taylor McPadden led Associated Refuse offensively with two hits each. For Papa Alâs Pizza, Tori Stevens, Rebecca Alicea and Charlize Marrazzo each had three hits and Ally Daoust and Kate Petersen teamed up for two great defensive plays on the field to lead Papa Alâs Pizza past Associated Refuse 5-3.
Newtown Hardware 7, Baum Orthodontics 6: Baum Orthodontics had its best offensive performance of the season in a fun, rain-filled game against a determined Newtown Hardware team. For Baum, Olivia Grant had a clutch game tying hit. Nicole Fisher, Lydia Shugrue, Grace Eurell, Genny Kelly and Jenna Reilly had base hits for Baum. Emma Magazu and Julia Gerace pitched very well, while Magazu made a tremendous defensive play. For Newtown Hardware, in one of the most exciting and unusual games of the season, Carley Nuzzoâs single, with the infield drawn in, scored Virginia Hepp (double) with the game-winning run. Ally Hurley, Natalie Horn, Danielle Blanco and Kali Ryder led the offensive attack with RBI hits. Julia Minchak and Allison Hechler pitched well. Baum O. was leading 4 to 1 when the surprise downpour occurred. The girls from both teams ran around the bases during the delay. When play resumed, Baum Orthodontics came within a foot of a triple play, but not getting the third out led to a big comeback for Newtown Hardware.

Newtown Savings Bank 1, Blueline Designs 1: Newtown Savings Bank needed a late-inning rally against Blueline Designs to remain undefeated for the season. Nicki DaPra got NSB started in the top of the fifth with a long double down the left field line. She then stole third base and then scored when the hot-hitting Sophie Muzzio had her second hit of the game. Ashley Solomon made two outstanding defensive plays at second base for NSB. Adelaide Meier was also stellar in the field when she caught a fly ball and stepped on second for an unassisted double play. For Blueline Designs, Casey McLean and Sarah Dowling were impressive on the mound. Defensive play action was led by Danielle Otero with an outstanding triple play in the first and a double play to end the game in the fifth. Great fielding plays were also made by Vanessa Tucker, Sasha Allen, Rose Wheway and Chloe Freedman. Rose scored the teamâs only run.
Michael Scott Financial Group 8, Extreme Fitness Martial Arts 7: In a nail-biter, Michael Scott Financial Group held on. Amanda Berry clubbed three hits, scored three runs and drove in one run. Abby Pereira smacked two doubles, scored twice and drove in two runs. Shannon Cheh pitched two strong innings and also contributed two hits, scoring both times, while Tess Mubarek and Sydney Marino also banged out two hits. Lisa Price, Victoria Weimann and Lindsey Sherwood also had base hits in the victory. For Extreme Fitness Martial Arts, Abi Clarke, with a great game on the field and in the batterâs box, wins the coachesâ game ball. Elizabeth Maker with a great play at second, early in the game, saves a couple of runs to keep the red team in the game. The bats were mostly quiet for the red team until the last inning when they scored four total runs â three runs on an exciting line-drive homerun shot into center field by Allie Eurell â to come within one of tying up the game, but unfortunately they fell short in a close, exciting finish.
Newtown Savings Bank 7, Michael Scott Financial Group 6: Newtown Savings Bank came from behind to win its third game of the season. NSB scored four runs in the top of the fourth to take a 7-6 lead. Christina Sgobbo started the rally with her second hit of the game. Kendra Saunders then followed with her second hit of the game. Erin Burns and Nicki DaPra both kept the rally going with singles. Gabrielle Calbo then knocked in the tying run with a line drive over the third basemanâs head. Noel Carbone capped off the comeback when she drove in Nicki DaPra. In the bottom of the fourth, NSB made three outstanding defensive plays to preserve the victory. Erin Burns threw out a runner from deep shortstop for the first out and caught a high popup for the second. Sophie Muzzio clinched the win when she fielded a hard-hit grounder at third base and threw the runner out at first. For Michael Scott Financial Group, Samantha Black, Sydney Marino and Shannon Cheh all had two hits apiece, while Abby Pereira smashed her third double in two days. Shannon Cheh struck out six in two innings to help MSFG breakout to a 4-0 lead, but ultimately NSB rallied to win in the four-inning battle. Amanda Berry and Olivia Mubarek combined on a spectacular play in the infield in the third inning, a sure-fire âweb gemâ on ESPN.
Nuzzo Electric 3, Blueline Designs 2: Sienna Cummings and Rose Wheway were impressive on the mound. Casey McLean and Danielle Otero showed great skills behind the plate. Great defensive play action was made by Jaclyn Moccio, Emily Krasnickas and Brianna Giglio. Sasha Allen had an RBI, and Rose Wheway and Nickole Lillis made the two runs. For Nuzzo Electric, Heather Stroili and Emma McGrath pitched two great innings each, holding the blue lightening to just two runs. Joy Metzger doubled and was driven in by Zoe Beals who homered to give the Gators the early lead. In the third, Heather Stroili singled and was driven in by Kaysie Fisher to give the Gators the go-ahead run.

Claim Services International 16, New England Bounce About 12: Claim Services International moves to 4-1 on the season. Sydney Flint and Ashley Gong handled the pitching duties well, with Cassidy Keller behind the plate. The CSI Penguins were up 7-0 after two strong innings at bat. Jackie Sgobbo doubled in the first, driving in two runs. Jenna Carvalho had a great day at the plate with a triple and two doubles. Strong defensive plays by Sydney Flint, Tina DeMaio, Hanna Bigwarfe and Kelsey Nicholson helped keep the CSI Penguins out front for the victory. For New England Bounce About (NEBA), a late game rally came up short. Emily Bell and Shannon Lynch pitched well but could not contain the strong hitting from Claim Services. Skyler Kneski and Sarah Maudsley each had two hits to keep NEBA close.
WellBaskets.com 17, Peace Love and Cupcakes 7: Courtney Demeglio of WellBaskets.com had an outstanding game with two singles, four RBI, and a fantastic debut pitching. Allison Silkowski, Kaelana Dauber, and Kayla OâSullivan all had a single and an RBI. Bella Luciano had two singles â including a solid shot to right field â and 2 RBI, and Alexis Tucker had two singles and an RBI. Joanna Vodola contributed with a single and had a great glove at third base, while Sammie Strocchia was strong as a catcher, making several crucial plays at the plate. For Peace Love and Cupcakes, the offense was led by Samantha Cody, Madison Fusaro and Cassidy Datin. Samatha walked twice, singled, and drove in two runs. Madison walked three times and scored twice, and Cassidy added a double. Katie Reilly and Alexa Horkachuck pitched well, while Sophie Ackert and Jillian Gibney held the defense together.
U12 Travel 9, Ridgefield Tigers 7: The defense was led by Lauren Wilcox, who struck out 19 batters. Kelly Merrick gave a strong performance on first base, as well as catcher Isabella Luciano, and shortstop Tegan Doherty, who made a great play at second base. Luciano also made an outstanding play at the plate The Hawks offense was led by Caitlyn Linden and Kelly Merrick, who each had two RBI. Cassidy Keller had a single on a well-executed bunt, Samantha Strocchia also laid down a nice bunt to advance runners, and Haley Ryan singled and showed her base-stealing ability to assist the team in the win.
