Barbara Yaremich Cardinal, 79, of Trumbull died February 8 at St Vincent’s Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Cardinal. Born in Bridgeport, she was a Trumbull resident for the past 42 years.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Dr Deborah A. and David Augenbraun of Sandy Hook, Kenneth J. Cardinal of Easton, Mark J. and Kerry Cardinal of Trumbull, and Richard J. and Trina Cardinal of Simsbury; her sister, Vera Tryjada of Trumbull; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, her brothers Peter, Walter, and John Yaremich predeceased her.

Mrs Cardinal was a dedicated certified nurse’s aide (CNA) and had worked private duty and at 3030 Park in Bridgeport.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Those who knew her will remember her as a very kind and generous person.

Funeral services will take place Wednesday, February 12, at 10 am, from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, and at 11 am, in St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 1 Honeyspot Road, Stratford. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Friends may call Tuesday, February 11, from 4 to 7 pm, in the funeral home, with a Pannikhida service to be conducted at 5 pm.
