Nufer Bolan Bolmer, 88, of Maine, formerly of Newtown, died peacefully April 17 in his home. He was born in Greenwich, the son of Marion (Kaechele) and George R. Bolmer, Sr.

Mr Bolmer grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School, where he was a varsity football star. He attended drafting school after high school and served in the US Navy for four years on several ships.

Mr Bolmer and his brother, Gene, started a business called Bolmer Homes. He built many Newtown homes on Key Rock Road, Longview Heights, Overlook Drive, and Brookwood Drive. He was known as a dedicated builder and was considered by those who contracted him as being extremely hard working and so very honest. Mr Bolmer's loved ones say he was the product of hard work, that gave him priceless knowledge, which he in turn willingly shared with anybody.

He had a positive attitude and contagious smile that affected all those who were honored to have known him. Mr Bolmer enjoyed gardening and traveling. Above all else, he was known as being a gentleman.

His wife, Donna; brothers, George and Gene Bolmer, both of Newtown; four children; and many nieces and nephews survive him.

One child predeceased him.

A private service will be held in Maine for the immediate family.
