Peter Cipkala, 82, of Stratford, beloved husband of Mary Jean Maksimowicz Cipkala, died April 24, in his home. He was born in Torysky, Czechoslovakia, on January 1, 1936 to the late Maria (Klotz) and Michal Cipkala and has been a longtime area resident.

In addition to his beloved wife of 45 years, his devoted daughters and their spouses, Debra and Marco Marini of Sandy Hook, Marie and Erich Damke of Seymour, and Michelle and David Foley of New Hampshire; ten cherished grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail, Jacob, Joshua, Matthew, Natalya, Luca, Maximus, Victoria, and Zachary; his brothers, Jan and Mikulas both of Slovakia; and several nieces and nephews survive him.

His brothers, Michal and George, predeceased him.

Mr Cipkala was retired from Sikorsky Aircraft, where he was employed as a tool and die maker for many years. He was a recreational coin collector and enjoyed talking with everyone he met; but most of all, loved spending time with his family, especially his adored grandchildren.

Funeral services took place on the morning of April 30 in the Adzima Funeral Home, Stratford, and at Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St John the Baptist, Bridgeport, for a requiem funeral service. Interment was in St John's Cemetery, Monroe.
