Rebecca (Schmaling) Watson, 57, of Waterbury, died December 5 at Waterbury Hospital, after a long illness. She was born February 8, 1955, in Stamford.

Her fiancé Pasquale Iannuzzi; three sisters, Kathleen Dardis of Sandy Hook, Sandra Anderson of Stamford, and Laureen Aasen of Mooresville, N.C.; a brother, Bruce Schmaling of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sons, Jeremiah and Eric Carmichael; grandchildren, nieces, and nephews survive Ms Watson. Her mother Jean Maria (Holt) Schmaling and father Sanford Lyons Schmaling predeceased her.

Ms Watson was a graduate of Brookfield High School, and then went on to receive her CNA certification. She was a very kind and compassionate person, who was always willing to help others, and strived to bring people together. The most important thing in her life was to make others happy. Her sense of humor was welcomed by all — always making others laugh, able to see the lighter side of difficult situations, and able to enjoy the simpler things in life. She loved to crochet, and did a lot of arts and crafts. Ms Watson loved animals and she will be missed by her cat, Ozzie. She was truly loved, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Mass and burial to be determined by her family.
