Billie Lou (Hurt) Reedy, 84, died March 7. Mrs Reedy had been a resident of The Homesteads in Newtown for more than two years. She was born in Indianapolis, Ind., April 9, 1920, the daughter of William Larkin Hurt and Mamie Bevans Hurt.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, John H. Reedy, Newtown; she was the mother of four children, Judith Scott of Newtown, and Carolyn Benston, Robert Hurt, and John H. Reedy, all of Tucson, Ariz. She is also survived by two sisters, Gertrude Mehl of Goshen, Ind., and Bettye Jane Miller of Brandenburg, Ky.; a brother, Paul T. Hurt of New Bern, N.C.; two grandchildren, Erin Scott McMurray of Norwalk and Jason Scott of Danbury; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Louise and Mackenzie Claire Scott, also of Danbury. Scattered across the country are three more grandchildren and a third great-grandchild.
She was educated in Indianapolis and at Indiana University in Bloomington. In State College, Penn., she was secretary of the Heart Association and in Harvard, Mass., she was a real estate broker for 25 years, managing the office for six years.
Memorial services will be held at The Homesteads, 166 Mt Pleasant Road, April 10 at 2:30 pm and at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, April 16.
