Jennie Takacs Antal, 85, of Derby, formerly of Newtown, and beloved wife of the late Andrew Antal, died peacefully in Branford Hospice November 19. Born in Redding, she was the daughter of the late Mary and John Takacs.

Ms Antal is remembered as a beautiful soul and a hardworking woman who enjoyed baking, canning, gardening, and country living. Her life was centered on her love for Jesus Christ and her church.

She was adored by her nieces and nephews, and although she had no children of her own, she was a “Mother” to many. Ms Antal will leave an empty space in her family’s hearts.

Survivors include a brother, John Takacs of Florida, and a sister, Helen Falls of Redding; a sister-in-law and best friend Rose Sabre of Fairfield; and a host of nieces and nephews.

At Ms Antal’s request, a simple memorial will be held at Newtown Christian Church, 210 Sugar Street, Newtown, Saturday, November 30, at 2 pm.
